The Saga of Da’Vonne and David

So I thought I’d written my last post about Big Brother All-Stars Season 22, but then Da’Vonne decided to post a two hour and ten minute video on YouTube detailing why she doesn’t fuck with David anymore and well, I have some thoughts. Firstly, I’ve been hurt by many people in my life and I can’t stand an even longer list of people, but I can’t imagine at my big age spending over two hours discussing someone that hurt me/pissed me off. Now, I know Da’Vonne discussed David because people were asking her about what happened between her and him, but for two hours, Sis? Really?! He would’ve gotten 30 minutes of my time at the most. Da’Vonne’s video currently has 26,000 views, so at least she’s likely getting well-compensated for her time.

Now, let’s dive into the tea Da’Vonne spilled. I’m not sure if I said this in one of my other Big Brother posts, but for a long time in the house, it seemed like Bayleigh was the Black woman the house preferred and in my opinion, Bay seemed to like that. I remember her telling Day during one of their late-night downloading sessions that she (Bayleigh) was perceived as a white-sounding Black girl or something like that. At the time, it seemed like she was explaining to Day why people in the house seem to gravitate to her more and she tried to come off as self-deprecating (for those of you that don’t know, being told you “sound white” by another Black person is meant to be an insult, one I’ve heard many times), but I sensed she took some pleasure in being the one people seemed to like more.
